公司背景 亞洲電視成立於1957年5月29日,至今已服務香港觀眾超過半世紀,不僅是香港第一家電視台,而且更為全球第一家中文電視台。公司初期以收費電視形式經營,取名為「麗的映聲Rediffusion (HK) Ltd」,1973年開始,改為「麗的電視Rediffusion Television Ltd」,並且提供免費廣播服務予全港觀眾。1982年,正式改名為「亞洲電視 Asia Television Ltd」。 2007年,踏入數碼廣播年代的同時,亞洲電視搬進位於大埔工業邨550,000平方呎的全新綜合大樓。自2008年1月1日起,亞洲電視起動了數碼廣播,在香港除了提供兩套免費模擬節目頻道,包括「本港台Home Channel」(主要以粵語為主)及「國際台World Channel」(主要以英語為主)之外,更增加了四套免費數碼節目頻道,包括「亞洲台Asia Channel」,「中央電視台綜合頻道CCTV-1」、「南方衛視」及「深圳衛視」合共六套節目;前三套屬自辦頻道。此外,亞洲電視亦透過人造衛星,提供「本港台(美洲版)頻道」,為美國及加拿大的觀眾帶來24小時的節目廣播服務。亞洲電視觀眾遍佈香港、澳門、廣東省及北美多個地區,每日接觸的觀眾高達一億人次。 2002年,「國家廣播電視電影總局」批准亞洲電視的「本港台」及「國際台」進入廣東珠三角有線網絡,令到更多國內地區觀眾能收看亞洲電視之節目。此外,受惠於「廣告直通車」之落實,令亞洲電視的廣告效益更大。 節目類型 亞洲電視製作的節目種類繁多,包括新聞節目、劇集、綜藝節目、綜合資訊節目等各類型節目,經典無數。近年,更引入多套來自國內、韓國、及世界各地的外購電視劇,成績叫好叫座。 市場佔有率 亞洲電視自2011年起,委託由香港大學民意研究計劃進行「電視觀眾研究」,發展出一套全面而科學的電視觀眾收看行為及喜好研究,及其他新興媒體及流動電子裝置等的觀賞渠道。根據調查結果顯示,亞洲電視與另一家免費電視在收視 人口達4.4比5.6開,目標在年底前爭取5:5開的局面。 發展新商機 受惠於CEPA及國內開放政策,及「廣告直通車」的因素,亞洲電視的影響力在廣東省以及珠三角一帶均有增長。亞洲電視為進一步拓展商機,近期更積極發展多元化的招商服務,如二月份為重慶市經濟開發區在港舉行招商活動,除了舉辦一系列商務活動之外,更籌辦一個大型晚會,招待了香港多位身份顯赫的官紳名流出席,更為重慶市經濟開發區招徠巨額的投資。 |

Corporate Information Asia Television Limited (亞洲電視有限公司) is one of the two terrestrial television broadcasters in Hong Kong. The company came into existence on 29 May 1957 as a subscription/cable television programme service provider under the trade name Rediffusion (Hong Kong) Limited ("Rediffusion"). Not only was Rediffusion the first ever television station in Hong Kong but it was also the very first Chinese television station in the world. Rediffusion was renamed to Rediffusion Television Limited ("RTV") and progressed to free-to-air wireless television broadcasting in 1973. In 1982, the station was renamed to become Asia Television Limited ("ATV"), as it is known today. ATV currently provides Hong Kong viewers with six programme service channels, namely, "ATV Home Channel 11", "ATV HD Channel 12", "TVS Channel 13", "CCTV 1 Channel 15", "ATV World Channel 16", and "SZTV Channel 17". In addition, an overseas subscription channel, "ATV Home Channel (America)", offers subscribers over North and South America television programmes in Cantonese 24 hours a day via satellite. It is estimated that ATV’s programmes have an audience reach of over 100 million in Hong Kong, Macau, Guangdong and North America. In 2002, ATV was granted permission by China’s State Administration for Radio, Film and Television to beam its Home and World channels to the Guangdong Pearl River Delta region. A close relationship with Guangdong TV was established to ensure a stable and constructive collaboration in programme productions, advertising, and sales ventures. Programming ATV offers a wide choice of programmes ranging from news, current affairs, documentaries, travelogue, infotainment, finance, healthcare, women, children, youth, senior citizen, culture, religion, drama, reality, to sports and horse-racing. Besides producing and staging its own variety shows, such as beauty pageants, singing contests and community events, ATV is always on the alert to outsource highly-acclaimed popular TV series from overseas, in response to the changing tastes and needs of the audience. As a matter of fact, popular TV dramas from South Korea and Mainland China are often given prime time slots. Market Share Since the beginning of 2011, ATV has commissioned the University of Hong Kong Public Opinion-Programme to conduct research on the viewing data, audience share between ATV and TVB. According to the findings of a research project published in March 2011, ATV captured 40% of free-to-air viewership in Hong Kong. According to a projection based on the current data, a 50:50 audience share may well be reached by the end 2011. New Businesses With the advancement of CEPA and 9+2 Economic Region policies, the increasingly closer economic ties between Hong Kong and various Chinese provinces have afforded ATV with more opportunities to explore and expand businesses from Hong Kong to China and overseas. Capitalizing on its competitive edge and Hong Kong’s special cultural, economic and political position, ATV has great advantage and potential in becoming one of the most influential media in the Southern China region. To strengthen the market share, ATV has recently embarked on developing more new businesses. One of the tasks included assisting merchants in Mainland China to promote their business in Hong Kong. The project on the promotion for Chongqing Economic-Technological Development Area has, so far, proven to be our greatest achievement in 2011. Through the assistance we provided, Chongqing Economic-technological Development Area had attracted substantive investments with promising outlooks, and gained more recognition both in Hong Kong and worldwide. Apart from managing the day-to-day operations of commercial television, ATV is well-prepared for venturing into any business opportunities from Mainland China. |
